> StreamingFast is one of the world's foremost experts in processing and indexing blockchain data. As a core developer on The Graph, StreamingFast built Firehose and Substreams — open-source technologies that enable developers to extract, transform, and consume blockchain data at extreme speeds and at scale.

## About

StreamingFast was founded by a team of serial tech entrepreneurs with deep expertise in large-scale data infrastructure. Launched in 2018 and originally backed by top investors, the company transitioned toward becoming a fully employee-owned enterprise following a core developer grant from The Graph in June 2021.

Beyond The Graph, StreamingFast incubates projects through its partner Diagram Ventures and invests in early-stage companies focused on blockchain infrastructure.

### Firehose

Firehose is a blockchain data extraction layer designed from scratch to process the full history of blockchains at previously unseen speeds. It adopts a files-based, streaming-first approach and serves as the foundational layer for Substreams.

- Designed for high availability, preventing downtimes
- Stream cursor handles forks and resumes in any condition

Substreams is a powerful, blockchain-agnostic, parallelized, streaming-first data transformation engine built on top of Firehose. It enables developers to write Rust modules, compose community-built modules like LEGO blocks, and sink processed data anywhere.
